How to fix error codes 2503 and 2502 in Windows 8? Today I did a fresh install of Windows 8 build 9200 and I'm really liking it. However, there's one small problem: a lot of software can't be installed due to the repeating occurrence of error codes 2503 and 2502.

2502: something about InstallFinalize
I read that this happens because of an incorrect system date and time, but they are in fact accurate on my machine. Any tips to fix error codes 2503 and 2502 in Windows 8?

All I did was run the installer as Administrator, worked fine after I did that.

I just found a post to fix the error codes 2503 and 2502 in Windows 8, as following:
Perform the following troubleshooting methods:
Method 1:
I would suggest you to perform System File Check (SFC), and then check if this fixes the issue.
Follow the steps:
a. Press “Windows Key + Q” to open Charms Bar.
b. Type “cmd” without quotes in the search box.
c. On the left pane, right click on the “cmd” option and select “Run as Administrator”.
d. Type “sfc /scannow” without quotes and hit enter.
Note: It may ask for windows installation DVD to fix and to enable SFC to make more than minor repairs. Some files saved on your computer might get deleted when fixing corrupted files.
Method 2:
Create a new user account and then check how it works in the new user account.
Follow the steps mentioned below to create a new user account.
a. Press “Windows Key + W”.
b. Type Users in the search box and select “Users” option from the left panel.
c. Select “Add Users” under “Other users” option.
d. Add the user profile details.
e. Then login to the new user account and then check how it works.
Method 3:
If that doesn’t work, then I would suggest you to refresh Windows 8 and then check if this fixes the issue.
Follow the steps:
a. Press “Windows Key + w”.
b. Type “Refresh” in the search box and hit “Enter”.
c. Select “Get started” option under “Refresh your PC without affecting your files” section.
d. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Important: Refreshing Windows 8 will remove all third party applications installed and it will reset all the Microsoft applications to default.
