  • Anyone else encounter the start up issue in Dead Island? I downloaded Dead Island off of Steam today, and Dead Island won't start up. Whenever I try to start it a "CrashExit..." message pops up. The message says, "EXIT: FATAL ERROR Cannot initialize renderer". How to fix the startup issue in Dead Island? How do I start up Dead Island?

    You need to do is restart Steam for 2 minutes and power it back up. Then if nothing comes of it, contact Gabe Newell or Valve on Steam, or report a bug. They should gwt back to you with your dilemma.
