Can people pay different federal taxes who make the same personal income?

hi, i am wondering can people pay different federal taxes who make the same personal income? i have my first job with little payroll recently, and i have some friends making the same wage with me. they say all of us should pay for the federal taxes, but if is it payed different federal taxes who make the same personal income?
