Is there any way to build credit without paying annual fees?

Is there any way to build credit without paying annual fees? I'm 18 years old and I have no credit history. I have a checking and savings account, and a job, but I still live with my parents and have very few bills, none of which are in my own name. I'm looking to build credit, is there any other way to build credit besides secured credit cards?
