How long will water damage iPhone 5 work?

I want to know how long water damage iPhone 5 will work. I got my iPhone 5. It was new but when i put service on it, they said that the iPhone 5 had water damage. I think everything is working fine for right now, but she said the phone won't last more than a month. Can you tell me how long they norm work for after they get water damage?

I bought an iPhone 5. It had been washed in the washer. I have had iPhone 5 now for about 3 or 4 months and it still works fine.
