I get insanely nervous whenever I have to speak in front of a group of people. So far, in college I haven't had to do a presentation; but I know that eventually I'll have to do it, so I want to prepare myself for that time and know how to deal with fear of public speaking.

The best way to get over a fear of public speaking is to do it. Join a group where the members practice public speaking in front of each other and get critiqued.
And there are a number of techniques that can be employed that will make a beginner look like a pro.
1) Prepare now, while you have the luxury. Practice putting together a talk that has 3-4 key points. Back up your points with stories. Audiences love stories, and it gives you instant credibility.
2) Practice using notes that have key words that trigger what you're going to say. NEVER write out a speech word for word. Use the words and then just speak from your heart and tell your stories.
3) Practice in front of a video camera and critique yourself. We all have quirks and movements that betray nervousness. By seeing yourself and hearing your voice and you can learn not to do these things.
4) Relax. Breath deep. Don't be afraid to pause during your talk to gather your thoughts. this shows confidence.
Before a talk stretch your mouth and tongue. Warm up your voice by humming from your lowest pitch to your highest. Approach the podium / mic with your chin up and striding with confidence. Dress the part. Make sure your dress is a step up from the audience-instant credibility. You'll be fine.
